A WOMAN appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, charged with unlawfully assaulting her niece to cause her actual bodily harm.
Yvette Mentore pleaded not guilty to the offence, denying that she, last May 12, unlawfully assaulted Marcia Mentore. Police Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, had no objection to bail but requested that the defendant be warned to stay away from the virtual complainant as they live in the same house. The defendant was ordered to keep the peace and be of good behaviour until the determination of the case. She was made to lodge $10,000 surety until July 25. |
