ANOTHER assault defendant, Carl Williams (no address given) was in the same Court on Tuesday.
His common assault charge said the offence was committed July 1 on his close friend, Fazil Mohammed, at East Ruimveldt, in Georgetown, too. He pleaded guilty with explanation. According to Williams, he and the virtual complainant had no personal issues until a family member of the latter insulted him. He confronted that person and Mohammed got involved. Williams said Mohammed first chucked him and they both went to the Police Station where they were charged. However, as Mohammed was absent, the Court issued an arrest warrant for him. Williams was fined $10,000 with the alternative of seven days imprisonment, creating quite a ruckus as he was being led away. |
