LOKENDRA Basdeo appeared before Vigilance Magistrate Nyasha Hatmin yesterday, charged with carrying more passengers than required.
Particulars of the offence stated that, on May 16 at Annandale, East Coast Demerara, a traffic rank stopped Basdeo and discovered that the conductor was carrying an overload of persons in his minibus. He pleaded guilty to the charge, and was fined $15,000, or alternatively one month’s imprisonment. |
