…over ‘brand name’ clothing argument
A 16-year-old student of St. George’s Secondary School, in the city, was yesterday afternoon fatally stabbed by an 18-year old, reportedly following an argument over ‘brand name’ clothing. Dead is Shane George of 144 Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Greater Georgetown.  The incident reportedly occurred around 17:30hrs, outside of the Morgan’s Learning Centre on John Street, Campbellville, where both boys attended private lessons.
Reports are that the two were involved in an argument which escalated into a scuffle.  It is alleged that the elder boy turned away, and returned with a knife with which he fatally stabbed George, who was walking away when he saw the other approaching.
The wounded teen was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was immediately attended to by doctors, but died soon after.
Relatives, on learning of the lad’s death, rushed to the hospital and were inconsolable on realising that what they had heard was true.  Deep anguish prevailed as relatives, classmates and scores of others converged on the A&E Unit and wept openly.
The teenager who allegedly stabbed George was later arrested by police, and was late last evening in custody at the Kitty Police Station.
