Deadline extension at Nicaragua meeting Guyana’s only hope at avoiding international sanctions
WITH the parliamentary Opposition MPs deliberately dragging their feet on the passage of the amendments to the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering and Financing of Terrorism (AMLCFT) Bill, government is left with no choice but to seek an extension to the initial May 27 deadline.
If this extension is granted, the government will still be faced with the
UGSS internal audit for completion month-end
AN INTERNAL audit of the accounts of the University of Guyana Students Society (UGSS) which was triggered by allegations of misappropriation of funds by its president, Ganesh Mahipaul, will be completed by month-end.

At that time I was young, black, at 25 years and physically and mentally involved in politics and my country.
